Happy Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend – Deborah Armstrong

Deborah's Diary

Thanksgiving

It’s the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. Regretfully, we will not be celebrating as we have done over the years. Because of COVID19, limitations have been placed on the number of people allowed to gather. In our area, households are asked to stay contained; guests are not permitted. We are fortunate that our family has maintained the 8-person bubble begun in March of this year. We are the family that works together and dines together.

I will miss seeing my siblings and their children. There will be no family trek out to the barn to see the cows and cats. My brother-in-law won’t be here to do the dishes. Our conversations may not be as heated or lively. And, there won’t be anyone to offer opposing political views. However, we will have laughter, and we will share the love we have for each other and be thankful that we have not been physically touched by the virus.

Wishing all of my Canadian friends a happy and healthy Thanksgiving weekend. Enjoy the wonderful fall weather. Appreciate the gifts of family and good health. Eat that extra piece of turkey, and don’t worry about asking for a second serving of dessert, especially if it’s pumpkin pie.

Spread the love
