If you follow me on social media, you’ll have noticed all my posts are promoting Love’s Farewell or Forever Love. It’s something that authors have to do to promote their books and themselves. One follower wondered why I used the amazon.com link for my books. Did you know that 96% of my readers are in the United States? Canadians, through Amazon.ca, make up 3% of my readers. Readers in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Australia make up the remaining 1%. In future, I’ll use both links in my campaigns. Love’s Farewell has been downloaded 952 times, and Forever Love 5. Readers have two more days to make use of the campaign. I’ve already nabbed Best Seller in four different categories: Canadian Literature, Death and Grief, Religious Fiction, and Quick and Easy Cooking. If you’re wondering how this is possible, and you haven’t yet read Love’s Farewell, I will break it down for you as best I can without giving too much away about the story:
- I’m a Canadian author, and my short story is listed as Canadian Fiction
- The story is about Foxx O’Connell (remember him) requesting that Davina be with him by his deathbed and how this affects Quinn and Davina. It’s a story about death and dying and helping loved ones die in peace.
- The religious aspect is that Davina and Foxx discuss the afterlife and what it means to both of them. Davina’s thoughts bring comfort to Foxx.

The Big Ask
Reviews. I am in desperate need of reviews and star ratings for my books. If you use Amazon or Goodreads, your reviews help me promote my books. Many readers won’t touch a book if it doesn’t have reviews showing on Amazon. Amazon likes to see many reviews, too and will promote my books if I have lots of reviews. For authors, receiving reviews is like receiving the best present, the best feel-good one could imagine.

Happy Halloween
Does Halloween give you a feel-good feeling, or do you turn off the lights and hope no trick or treaters come your way? The only trick-or-treaters we get are our grandchildren. The demographics in our area have changed, and there aren’t little ones that drop by for treats. I still buy treats. I buy the grandkids’ favourites, Hershey Chocolates and Peanut Butter Cups, and make sure that the bag remains unopened until Halloween. This year, the grandkids may have a Halloween party on the weekend and get their treats so that their weekday bedtime schedule isn’t upset by going out trick or treating. I think it’s a great idea.
I bought myself a certain costume, something I’ve always wanted to get. I’ll post a photograph of myself in my next blog. Any guesses on what it is?
