I’m Back and Feeling Good
It’s been two months since I posted my Friday Feel-Good blog. It’s not that I haven’t been feeling the feel-goods. I feel great. However, I’ve been busy healing. I’ll share my favourite healing methods.
1. Visits with my Grandkiddies Always Feel-Good
Hanging out with the grandkiddies, taking pleasure in looking after them when Mommy and Daddy ask me. The eldest two are reading, and it gives me great joy to listen to the books come to life in their voice. The youngest granddaughter also loves books and wants to be read to constantly. When I use a different voice and add actions to the story, the giggles and wiggles make the tenth time reading the same words more bearable for me. Sandra Boynton’s Dinosaur Dance! is our current favourite.
2. Attending Feel-Good Book Fairs
I had the pleasure of attending two book fairs this month. Although I felt exhausted by the end of the event, it was nice to get back into meeting fellow authors, talking about our books, and promoting our books to new readers.

3. Watching Feel-Good Baseball Games
Everyone in my family plays on our church baseball team, but me. Since I’m the only non-player, I get to cheer on the team while I look after the grandkiddies. They love coming to the games, especially when they get treats from Marlene, our scorekeeper, and then get to run the bases once the game is over. The games are seven innings with three pitches per player and 3 outs. They are fun and entertaining, especially when the grandkiddies cheer on or heckle the players on both teams.
4. Gardening
Why does the first day of gardening make me feel good until the next day when my muscles ache and my joints don’t want to bend? I love the end result, watching the plants come into bloom with brilliant colours. I love the deep red of the geraniums and the day lilies’ brilliant yellow. My strawberry plants are full of berries, giving the birds a tasty treat. It’s wonderful to end the day sitting on the patio and looking out at the gardens. A definite feel-good moment for me.
5. Writing
I’m taking my time, or are my characters taking their time in getting their stories told? Bates and his lady love have been whispering in my ear. That’s a good sign. And the characters in Love’s Embrace are getting close to ending their silence. My plan is to have one or both stories ready for the fall.
Feel-Good Weekend Plans
It’s supposed to be a humid, rainy weekend; the perfect weather for staying inside and getting my work done. I’m sure the grandkiddies will come over for a visit. I have a surprise for them. I’ll post a picture if the surprise works out.
Have a great weekend. Relax. Enjoy. Happy reading.
