Deborah's Diary

Wow! This week’s weather has made every day a feel-good day. It’s T-shirts and shorts, and flip-flops. However, if you haven’t had your spring pedicure yet, skip the flip-flops until your tootsies look their best. I confess that I need a pedicure. I’ll add it to my Spring-to-do list.

Family Feel-Good Dinner

Last Sunday, we celebrated Easter with our immediate family. Of course, the grandchildren were the leading entertainment, making everyone feel good. Our grandson announced at the dinner table that every night should be a family dinner. We shared his enthusiasm for family get-togethers and then suggested that perhaps once a month would be more achievable. Then our little guy announced that we should connect our houses to see each other whenever we wanted. Well, that idea blossomed into a what-if scenario with his aunt Tiegan. The two talked about tunnels, trap doors, escaping bad guys, bunkers, and everything else needed for an underground tunnel system. Monty fetched paper and pencils, and Tiegan put the plans to paper. What a surprise it was to our imaginative five-year-old that this was only make-believe. He assumed that there would be excavators on the farm the next day. It’s been five days, and Monty still thinks about tunnels, working on the diagrams and waiting for Tiegan to help him with the plans.

Today, my wound measured .3 cm. I’m so close to healing! Next week, I have an appointment with the radiologist. She advised me that I’ll get mapped. Mapping involves getting tiny tattooed dots on the affected area so the machine lines up correctly with the tumour. On the fun side, this will be my first tattoo.

Weekend Plans

We’re heading to our daughters’ house tonight to help hang pictures and get treated to Chinese takeout. A simple thanks will suffice, but we won’t turn down an invitation for dinner.

This weekend I plan to finish organizing my taxes, clearing off my desk (I’m almost there), and reading a book. I strongly suggest downloading Mara Purl’s newest release, Why Hearts Keep Secrets, from Amazon. I’m sure it will make you feel good. It’s FREE for the next three days on Amazon.ca and Amazon.com. https://www.amazon.ca/Hearts-Keep-Secrets-Milford-Haven-Novels-ebook/dp/B0BWSS4G6W/

Mara Purl is an author friend of mine. She has a beautiful writing style and can’t put down stories. Please download her book. If you do, let me know, and we can review it together!

Have a wonderful weekend!
