Falling in Love with my Hero’s Voice
I look forward to sharing my Friday Feel Good Blog. It gives me a chance to reflect on my week. This week, I tried something new with my writing and immediately fell in love with my characters again. I’ve known my book characters for years since they sent me the first clue about their story. The tone of their voices, the way they speak to each other, the pauses and inflections. I thought I knew them inside and out until this week when I heard them talk to me.
I found an app that translates text to speech. https://www.naturalreaders.com/webapp.html I know. We’ve all heard the robot-sounding computer-generated voices. However, this website provides professional-sounding voices for a free trial, and I took advantage of it. For 15 minutes, I closed my eyes and heard Quinn tell his part of the story. Wow.
At this time, turning my books into audiobooks is not doable, although not impossible. And so, for now, I will listen to a voice called Matthew tell me Quinn’s side in Love’s Farewell (not yet published).
What? Another book in the series?
No. The Davina and Quinn series is officially finished. However, I am writing short stories based on some of the characters. I won’t turn my back on them. Luke has his story, as do Stevie and Cat. There’s always a story in the works.
Have a wonderful weekend. The weather forecast for my area isn’t great. What’s it like in your area? This week, we’ve had rain and snow on the same day. Mother Nature is throwing everything she has at us. In all honesty, I don’t expect nice weather to arrive and stay until mid-April. Until then, I’ll be working on my stories.
One more thing. If you follow me on Facebook, you may see a notice that it’s my birthday. It’s not. I chose April Fool’s Day for my Facebook birth date. It’s supposed to help against hacking.
