Do You Believe in Soul Mates?

Deborah's Diary

When I write my romance stories, my characters believe in soul mates. The hero is always the first to think that he has found his soul mate and then part of his journey is convincing his love interest that he is hers. Quinn knew the moment he laid eyes on Davina that she was the woman for him, and fate brought them together. Jack, very much the romantic like his father, believes he has found his soul mate after meeting her in a cafe. In Boss, Dane knows deep down inside that the mystery woman he rescued one night was the woman for him. https://deboraharmstrong.ca/books-1/

My heroines take longer to believe that they have met their soul mate. Why does it take them longer to trust in their feelings? Is it because they are more cautious? Realistic? Cerebral? They have to make sure before they commit. After all, one should know for sure they’ve met their one and only before they commit to a happily ever after. Wouldn’t you agree?

Types of Soul Mates

A soul mate is a person you feel deeply connected to without feeling dependent on them. The relationship is based more on giving than taking from the other. https://www.brides.com/what-is-a-soulmate-5097403

There are various types of soul mates:

  • The romantics are passionate, giving each other physical and emotional pleasure.
  • The kindred agree on everything, big and small.
  • The companions are friends with you in good times and bad and are always on your side.

My Soul Mate

I believe that hubby and I are soul mates. Were we destined to be together? That’s another topic for discussion. However, we have an excellent combination of romance, connection, and friendship in our relationship.

Do you believe in soul mates? Can you have more than one type? Please leave a comment below and let me know your thoughts.

Happy reading,

I love what I have read so far. I also believe in soul mates.
My husband and I will be married 58 years on March 23.
We are best friends, lovers, soul mates and husband and wife.
We had two daughters but our oldest passed away April 23, 2020. She also had two children a daughter and a son.
My youngest daughter has three children one daughter and two sons, we are very proud that none do drugs, do not like to drink except one grandson that’s in the military and making a career out of the service.
I really enjoy reading and look for new authors, that’s how I found you.
I thought you were one of my home bound nurses and started reading your note, Your name and hers are both the same.
Anyway I will have to wait for your books to come down in price or maybe finding someone selling them, second hand.
We are on a fix income and at our age I will be 78 in Oct we just don’t have the funds for them.
But you are very good at your hobby or job which ever you you wish.

May you career keep you on the top and your imagination keep up for all your books.

Charlene – thank you for your comment. There are a few Deborah Armstrongs on the internet. I’m happy that you found me. My hubby and I will celebrate our 41st anniversary this year. I’m not a home-bound nurse. I’m a stay-at-home mom who has kept busy for many years looking after our children, doing volunteer work with community charities, helping on the farm when needed, and now writing when I can find the time.
Please don’t despair about affording my books. I run regular contests and giveaways. Everyone has a chance to win. Also, if you read ebooks, I have a series special starting on Thursday, March 17th on Amazon. Forever Love will be free, and Love’s Challenges will sell for 99 cents.
    Have a wonderful week!
